goddamn long ass ebay feed urls

(Posted by alien - 2008-07-31 16:23:23.0) Permalink
the key on the nym column is too short to accomodate unique ebay feed result URLs (as the NYMs are based off the URLs..)

pain pain pain.. this requires review, at a low level, of the use of URL as NYM for various url-type memes

framebreakin' feed bastards

Ebay affiliate RSS works nice now..
but they break the iframe.. we have to be able to identify these and pop open a new window instead of using the viewer

the ones that accompany feed items are broken

very evident over at zombiekitty

the unresponded emergent get used over and over again, if the base number of items to randomly select from is low

on seekng..seems fine here

comments on bare URLs

(Posted by webswarm - 2008-07-14 14:40:12.0) Permalink
URLs can get fed into the system, right now, via the Edit Tags feature, which only works on seekng/etc

One tagged, they can now be commented on (this was broke before)

When viewing the comments, however, you can't see the URL-as-context.. just looks like a bare comment

1) fix URL context
2) fix Edit Tags on neoprog/etc

shifting actions to other aliases

this is broke on neoprog, not on seekng

comments in the emergent area

really need a little comment icon close to the actual comment..

well, seems there are some there, at the bottom, for feed items, but not for search.. need to make it more easily grokked, that its a comment, and can be interacted with

some people may not like to hover much

commenting in the viewer

this should be dialog-based.. we can save a lot of room that way up there

after a reasonable spell of time, the thumb picker should probably reload the URL

this apparent after checking up on a Summer Glau pic on LoreStorm at Vanity Fair (the legs!!)

too many tags for you!!

OK, if I click on any tag, for the section where "I tagged something", it shows tags across all swarms..

bad when the wifey views innocuous "goth" if she's not logged in (as she sees all Collective Unknown's activity)

in neoprog, view any topic with tons of comments. the dialog has no scrollbar anymore

easy enough to look for 'link' elements
the page can be called upon when the viewer is invoked, for instance (this would prep for image/thumb selection, too)

The Politico:
Senate GOP in big funk  —  A day after losing Ted Stevens' seat, along with their best hope for getting Joe Lieberman to cross over, Senate GOP leaders preached party unity as the key to surviving the Obama years.  —  If that doesn't work, there's always psychotherapy.
